Governance Committee seeks candidates for 2026 Board of Regents election

Ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to ACP, leadership ability, dependability, and the capacity to represent the College in various professional settings.


ACP's Governance Committee is currently selecting candidates for the Board of Regents (BOR), with new Regents set to join in April 2026. The Committee is responsible for overseeing the nomination and election of both MACPs and FACPs to the BOR.

In its selection process, the Governance Committee aims to reflect the diversity of the internal medicine community. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to ACP, leadership ability, dependability, and the capacity to represent the College in various professional settings. Nominees must hold FACP or MACP status within the College.

Intent to declare candidacy is due by Aug. 1, 2025. Upon declaring intent, candidates will receive full nomination instructions and must submit the following by Sept. 1, 2025:

  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Biographical sketch
  • Personal statement (250-word maximum)
  • Response to standardized question
  • Current curriculum vitae (CV)
  • Recent headshot (at least 2” high, 300 dpi, color preferred)
  • Disclosure of interests
  • Agreement to adhere to the Council of Medical Specialty Societies' Code for Interactions with Companies

Recommendation letters should highlight how the candidate's qualifications align with the BOR's needs and how they would contribute to ACP's mission.
