Dr. Friesinger graduated from Muskingum College in Ohio and then earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1955. He stayed at Johns Hopkins for training in internal medicine and cardiology. He served as regimental surgeon for the 5th Marines for two years, before returning to Johns Hopkins.
