ACP, Annals of Internal Medicine host forum on alcohol

ACP and Annals of Internal Medicine presented “Alcohol: Is Any Amount Safe for Health?” on Wednesday, May 14. The virtual forum for ACP members and Annals subscribers featured expert panelists discussing alcohol, including clinical case scenarios involving alcohol consumption, with evidence from recently published research and guidelines. Rebecca A. Andrews, MS, MD, MACP, professor of medicine at the University of Connecticut in Farmington and Chair of ACP's Board of Regents, moderated the forum.

The following panelists joined the discussion:

  • Katharine Bradley, MD, MPH, senior physician investigator, Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute, and affiliate professor of medicine and health systems and population health, University of Washington, Seattle
  • E. Jennifer Edelman, MD, MHS, AAHIVS, ACP Member, professor of medicine and public health, Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, Conn.
  • Timothy Naimi, MD, MPH, director of the Canadian Institute for Substance Use Research and professor in the School of Public Health and Social Policy at the University of Victoria, Canada
