ACP, Annals of Internal Medicine host forum on overweight and obesity

ACP and Annals of Internal Medicine presented “Overweight and Obesity: Current Clinical Challenges” on Wednesday, March 8. The forum featured expert panelists discussing treatment options for patients struggling with health complications associated with being overweight and obese. The forum was moderated by Christina C. Wee, MD, MPH, Senior Deputy Editor of Annals of Internal Medicine, Vice President of American College of Physicians, and associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
The panelists included:
- Anita P. Courcoulas, MD, MPH, Anthony M. Harrison Chair and Professor of Surgery and chief of minimally invasive bariatric and general surgery at the University of Pittsburgh;
- Sharon J. Herring, MD, MPH, associate professor of medicine and director of the Program for Maternal Health Equity at the Center for Urban Bioethics at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia; and
- Melanie R. Jay, MD, MS, associate professor in the departments of Medicine and population health at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and Veterans Affairs New York Harbor Healthcare System in New York City.
