Registration extended for ACP's in-person POCUS courses in Chicago

Courses on foundational point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) skills for internists, ultrasound-guided procedures, and advanced skills for outpatient practice will be held in November.

Registration is extended until Oct. 27 for ACP's in-person point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) courses this November in Chicago. In addition to the foundational and advanced POCUS courses, this year attendees will be able to take part in a new course, Ultrasound-Guided Procedures. Each POCUS course includes hands-on training from internationally acclaimed experts in performing ultrasounds. Attendees will earn CME/MOC upon course completion.

POCUS: Foundational Skills for Internists is a two-day course with sessions available either Nov. 10 and 11, 2022, or Nov. 12 and 13, 2022. In a small-group, hands-on format, attendees will practice ultrasound scanning on live models to support the development of bedside image acquisition skills.

Ultrasound-Guided Procedures will be held on Nov. 12, 2022. In this course participants will receive guided simulation training for common bedside procedures, including peripheral and central venous catheter placement, lumbar punctures, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and arthrocentesis.

POCUS: Advanced Skills for Outpatient Practice will be held on Nov. 14, 2022. The one-day course is designed to advance outpatient clinical assessment skills through interactive training and individualized feedback from the instructors. Topics include a PEARLS approach to a multisystem ultrasound physical, abdominal aortic aneurysm screening, skin and soft-tissue examination, and musculoskeletal ultrasound.

Interested participants for each course must register online by Oct. 27.
