On June 19, internists can learn about the latest clinical information on caring for patients with diabetes during “Diabetes for the Internist: ACP Virtual Live.” Clinical questions will be answered by experts in the field, and CME credits/MOC points are available.
During the course, participants will:
- Discuss the role of nutrition, weight loss agents, and bariatric surgery in overweight patients with diabetes.
- Review new insulin products and diabetes technology, including pumps and continuous glucose monitoring, and specifically address which patients with type 1 and 2 diabetes can benefit from these advancements.
- Using a case-based approach, review guideline-based medical management of type 2 diabetes with a focus on the risks and benefits of the newer noninsulin therapies.
- Discuss the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease in patients with diabetes.
- Review questions and challenges that arise in practice.
