New online collection of point-of-care ultrasound modules available

The new modules are free to ACP members, offer CME, and cover topics including lung ultrasound, deep venous thrombosis, and cardiac imaging.

ACP's Online Learning Center now features a collection of new, interactive multimedia point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) learning modules. With these online activities, physicians can learn appropriate uses of POCUS and develop skills necessary to implement POCUS throughout internal medicine practice.

Six new ACP POCUS modules cover a wide array of fundamental topics:

POCUS is being used by an increasing number of internal medicine specialists and subspecialists to improve diagnostic timeliness and accuracy.

The modules are free to ACP members and cost $25 per module for nonmembers. Each module in the collection offers free CME for ACP members and for nonmembers who pay for the course, allowing participants to earn 6 CME credits while learning this emerging, increasingly important skill for internists.

These modules are also the prelearning materials for ACP's live POCUS course, “Point-of-Care Ultrasound: Foundational Skills for Internists.” The two-day course will feature small-group, intensive live learning and will be offered Thursday and Friday, Nov. 7 and 8, and again on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 9 and 10, in the greater Chicago area.
