ACP supports new facility guidelines on primary care and gynecology procedures

The guidelines from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the National Partnership for Women & Families aim to improve health care without putting burdens on patients or clinicians.

ACP, along with other health care organizations, supports new guidelines released by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the National Partnership for Women & Families. “The Project on Facility Guidelines for the Safe Performance of Primary Care and Gynecology Procedures in Offices and Clinics” was undertaken to develop evidence-informed policy regarding procedures performed in these settings with the goal of furthering health care quality, safety, affordability, and patient experience without imposing unjustified burdens on patients' access to care or on clinicians' ability to provide care within their scope of practice.

The guidelines were published in the February issue of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
