ACP asks Nicaragua to respect physicians' duty to care for injured regardless of politics
Political unrest and violence in Nicaragua have reportedly led the government to impede the provision of care to wounded protesters, with physicians being subject to arbitrary firings and orders not to treat demonstrators.
ACP has sent a letter to Nicaraguan president Daniel Ortega to respectfully call on the government of Nicaragua to “respect and protect the ethical duty of physicians and other medical personnel to provide safe and appropriate medical care to whoever has need of it, without regard to political circumstances.”
