ACP offers free webinar on discussing afib self-management options with patients

The webinar will also cover how to apply risk-scoring systems to determine appropriate anticoagulation based on individual risk of stroke and bleeding.

Andrew Dunn, MD, MPH, MACP, chief of the Division of Hospital Medicine at Mount Sinai Health System, will present the webinar “Afib Self-Management: Discussing Anti-coagulation Options with the Patient/Using Decision Support Tools to Help Guide Care Plan” on Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 1 to 2 p.m. ET. After completing the webinar, attendees will be better able to discuss with patients the pros and cons of different anticoagulation strategies, the risk of stroke and bleeding, and the importance of lifelong adherence to the prescribed therapy. The webinar will also cover how to apply risk-scoring systems to determine appropriate anticoagulation based on individual risk of stroke and bleeding.

The webinar is free of charge and is open to ACP members and nonmembers. CME credits are available for this program, and registration is required. For more information, contact mduchin@acponline.org.
