ACP offers redesigned MACRA resources

Updated online features from ACP include a description of the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) or one of the Alternative Payment Model (APM) payment tracks.

ACP has redesigned its MACRA resources online to better streamline information for physicians on the law, how it will affect their work, and what they need to do to transition their practices successfully. The Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) was finalized in 2016, replacing the sustainable growth rate and establishing the Quality Payment Program (QPP). Under this physician payment system, physicians can earn increases in their Medicare payments.

Updated online features from ACP include:

  • a description of the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) or one of the Alternative Payment Model (APM) payment tracks,
  • information on the “pick their pace” program, which offers clinicians flexibility during the transition year,
  • links to resources for help, including ACP's Quality Payment Advisor, a free tool that will help members decide which path (MIPS or APMs) they should follow under the QPP, and
  • a summary of ACP's advocacy efforts and news from ACP.

For more information or questions or concerns regarding specific MACRA-related issues, send an e-mail.

We also encourage members to discuss MACRA with their colleagues in the ACP Member Forum on MACRA and the Quality Payment Program.
