Dr. Steven Weinberger receives AMA Lifetime Achievement Award

Steven Weinberger, MD, MACP, CEO emeritus of ACP, received the Medical Executive Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Medical Association during the opening session of its 2016 Interim Meeting.

The award honors a medical association executive who has contributed substantially to the goals and ideals of the medical profession.

Prior to becoming CEO of ACP, Dr. Weinberger served for 6 years as the organization's Senior Vice President for Medical Education and Publishing. Under Dr. Weinberger's leadership from 2010-2016, ACP has amplified efforts around controlling health care costs, such as with ACP's High Value Care initiative.
