The Women's Preventive Services Initiative (WPSI) is holding a public comment opportunity on updates to the Women's Preventive Services Guidelines.
Topics include screening for cervical cancer, counseling for sexually transmitted infections, HIV screening, contraception and contraceptive counseling, breastfeeding services and supplies, screening for interpersonal and domestic violence, well-woman preventive visits, and breast cancer screening for average-risk women.
The WPSI is a federally supported collaborative program led by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists to review and recommend updates to the current Women's Preventive Services Guidelines. WPSI is a coalition of national health professional associations and consumer and patient advocates with expertise in women's health. ACP is one of the organizations with representatives on the WPSI's Advisory Panel and Multidisciplinary Steering Committee; however, ACP's participation in WPSI does not constitute organizational endorsement of the recommendations.
The opportunity for public comment closes on Sept. 30, 2016.
