The College notes the passing of a former Chapter Governor.
William Shiffermiller, MD, FACP
William (Bill) Shiffermiller, MD, FACP, died on Sept. 27, 2024.
Dr. Shiffermiller served as Governor for the Nebraska Chapter from 2012 to 2016 and received a Laureate Award in 2016.
Dr. Shiffermiller graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Medicine in 1975. He began practicing internal medicine soon after and spent the bulk of his 43-year career affiliated with Methodist Health System in Omaha, where he served as vice president, chief medical officer, and medical director of the Methodist Community Health Clinic. He also served on the Methodist Hospital Foundation Board. Dr. Shiffermiller retired in 2021.
