The Governance Committee of the American College of Physicians places in nomination the following candidates for College governance. The election of College President-elect and Regents will take place by electronic ballot in January 2024 by the voting body of the Board of Regents and Board of Governors. The President-elect and Regents will take office at the conclusion of the Annual Business Meeting and Town Hall at Internal Medicine Meeting 2024.

2024-2025 Board of Regents Chair-elect, Chair, and ACP President

At its November meeting, the Board of Regents will elect its 2024-2025 Chair-elect. William E. Fox, MD, FACP, current Chair-elect of the Board of Regents, and Stephen Sisson, MD, MACP, President-elect, will assume office as Chair of the Board of Regents and President, respectively, at the conclusion of the Annual Business Meeting and Town Hall to be held at Internal Medicine Meeting 2024.

2024-2025 Board of Governors Chair and Chair-elect

Angela C. Johnson, MD, FACP, will take office as Chair of the Board of Governors in April 2024.

Roger S. Khetan, MD, FACP, has been elected Chair-elect for the Board of Governors. Dr. Khetan will officially take office as Chair-elect in April 2024.

Dr. Khetan is Governor for ACP's Texas Northern Chapter. He has been an FACP since 2009. Dr. Khetan has been active at the local level as a member of his chapter's Membership, Health and Public Policy, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committees. He also participates in the Texas Chapter of ACP Services. Under his leadership, the chapter received the Chapter Excellence Award in 2021 and 2022 (Gold Tier) and Evergreen Awards in 2022 (one Award and one Invited Resubmission) and 2023 (one All-Star Award).

On the national level, Dr. Khetan is currently serving as Vice-chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. Recently, he served as Class Representative on the Executive Committee, Board of Governors, and as a Board Member of the Political Action Committee. Additionally, Dr. Khetan was a recipient of the Richard Neubauer Advocate of the Year Award and has participated in national ACP Leadership Days.

Dr. Khetan received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Affiliated Hospitals-Houston. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Currently, Dr. Khetan is a physician adviser at Baylor Scott and White Employee Health. He also practices concierge medicine at North Texas Preferred Health Partners.
